We plan to use this section to give you lots of ideas for greener living. On the left you'll see a list of the topics we plan to cover.
Being good to our planet involves more than simply putting your empty bottles and old newspapers in a kerbside box once a week.
It means thinking about all the things your life involves - and whether you could do things differently.
For example, do you buy your food from a certain huge supermarket which underpays its producers as part of its plan for world domination?
And does that involve a five mile drive each way and a car boot full of pre-packaged items - things that come in ready-for-the-oven tinfoil containers or ridiculous amounts of plastic packaging ?
Do you have a power-guzzling vehicle, a huge plasma TV set and use a washer dryer half a dozen times a week?
If any of this applies to you, then it's time to take responsibility for the damage that you are causing to the environment - the amount of energy your home uses and the pollution that your vehicle causes.
One of the main things you can do is switch your electricity to a green provider. Lots of energy companies pay only lip service to the environment so look for one that has evidence to prove that it's really green.
One of the best out there is Good Energy - at the time of writing, it was the only company that provides 100% renewable energy.
That's right - 100% - not the 10-20% renewable maximum that many major electricity companies offer.
We have no hesitation in recommending them. (In the interests of complete openness, we are affiliates for Good Energy because we believe so passionately that they are the best.)
And it's not just us - their clients include environmental and ethical organisations like Action Aid, Friends of the Earth, Sustrans, River Cottage and Pukka.
You can compare their prices here - www.goodenergy.co.uk/affiliates/taylor-hunt Find out more about Good Energy by clicking on our Renewable Energy page on the left of your screen.

Start THINKING GREEN. Buy as much fresh food as you can - from local producers. It hasn't covered the food miles of the supermarket offering, it usually comes with little or no packaging and you are helping to support your local economy.
We'll be outlining other things you can do in the near future, but at the moment we're concentrating on Christmas.
So, here are some tips that will make Christmas a happier one for our beautiful planet - because, sadly, although most of us love the festive season, it is traditionally very bad news for our planet.
It's the time of year when we all buy more products - which means extra manufacturing to meet our needs, extra packaging to be thrown away, additional vehicle journeys for retail supplies, extra food thrown away ..... the list just goes on and on and on....
So, join our 2009 Christmas Carbon Campaign! Drop us a line - susan@biggreenguide.co.uk - to tell us you've signed up - and give us your best green tips for Christmas. (We've got a £20 prize for the best one we receive by December 15!)
Read our guide on Greening Christmas in the Cut Christmas Carbon section.
Unfortunately, we haven't yet had time to add content to the other sections but we're working on it!
